The Rio Grande Chapter of the Health Physics Society is excited about our upcoming 2014 Spring Technical Meeting scheduled for March 31, 2014 and invites members of the Chapter, other interested professionals and students of Health Physics and/or Nuclear Engineering to participate.
As an extra incentive, on March 30, 2014, there will be two training sessions with Dr. Richard Toohey as the instructor. The first session will be on Internal Dosimetry and the second on Radiological Emergency Response. The AAHP has granted continuing education credits for participation in our training sessions as well as the technical meeting and the application is pending for this year.
Meeting Registration
Continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments are included in the registration costs for the technical session. Each continuing education session will include a meal and snack. Dinner with buffet entrees of seared salmon, London broil, and Chimayo Chile Rubbed chicken is included with registration for both continuing education sessions. AAHP and NRRPT credit will be granted. (Deadline is March 25, 2014)
Continuing Ed: Internal Dosimetry: $75 (8 am – 12 pm March 30, 2014)
Continuing Ed: Rad Emergency Response: $75 (1 pm – 5 pm March 30, 2014)
Dinner & Social Hour: $45 (6 pm – 9 pm March 30, 2014)
Technical Session: $100 (8 am – 5 pm March 31, 2014)

Abstract due date: 21 March 2014
Abstracts will be printed directly from your electronic submission to RGC HPS President-Elect Walen Mickey at wmickey@sandia.gov. Minor editing (punctuation and grammar) may be performed on your abstract; you will not see a revised version before publication. It is our intent to publish the agenda prior to the sessions.
NOTES:
- A submitted abstract is a commitment to present; cancellations should be avoided.
- If extenuating circumstances prevent the presenting author from making the presentation, it is the author’s responsibility to find an alternate presenter.
All Technical Session presentations are slated for an oral format. Standard oral presentations are scheduled for 12 minutes, with an additional 3 minutes for questions. If you need additional time for your presentation, please notify RGC HPS President-Elect Walen Mickey at wmickey@sandia.gov upon submittal.
Abstract Acceptance: Notification of acceptance will be sent via email to the presenting author by March 25, 2014.
Presentation Publication: In previous years, the RGC HPS has posted the technical presentations on its website. Please notify RGC HPS President-Elect Walen Mickey at wmickey@sandia.gov on submittal of any restrictions on dissemination.
